The graduate wall is located in main hallway when entering the school. Each year it displays students who have the ability to graduate that school year. When a student who has their picture on the wall completes their graduation requirements, they place a tassel on their image to acknowledge their own success and provide encouragement for others to keep working towards their own graduation.
Graduates of Finest receive an official black hoodie with yellow sewn lettering for the name and logo to acknowledge their hard work and dedication. Other Finest hoodies and clothing may use white, silver, purple, or black lettering for the name and logo, but only graduates receive a special hoodie with yellow lettering.
When a student has satisfied all of their graduation requirements, their Family Teacher will schedule a Graduation Walk, where the graduate's family joins them for a final walk through the halls of the building as the student body and staff come out into the halls to cheer. Cowbells are used to loudly announce the graduate's victory lap through the school.
The Rose Ceremony has been a long-standing and valued tradition at our school. Graduates have the opportunity to express appreciation to those who have supported, prodded, encouraged, and loved them during their quest to earn their high school diploma.
After graduates present the rose, it is the recipients turn to share thoughts about the graduate.
The single red rose was chosen to symbolize this appreciation for two reasons. First, the red rose not only carries more meaning than other colors, but it is the universal symbol for love and deep emotion. Secondly, the single rose in any color means "thank you ."
During the ceremony, some graduates are awarded scholarships school awards, and cords.
A fun tradition at Finest is the Holiday Meal, where a Thanksgiving inspired meal is prepared and served by Administration and Food Services. Families share a meal together in their classrooms for this special event.
